Research Exercise 2
This first board first grabs your attention with the use of contrasting colours, the white structure on the purple background. The structure also overlaps which suits the authors design concept and I think it projects the ideas behind the work. There is a lot of text which I think is unnecessary but the remainder of the board is more simple
This second board also has a good use of contrasting colour, and the pattern along the top with the structure is a good link. I think there are alot of picture, fewer higher quality ones would have made it better in my opinion. Also less text, but overall a well made board.
Like the other two this board also makes use of contrasting colours which combines the title (made very clear) and the images. The images are put together pretty simply but do convey the ideas of the author. Also the subtle use of the plans in the background make it more interesting

Paper model exercise
Model 1:
Model 2:
Model 3:
All of my models are literal representations, the first and 3rd are of the Chord Bridge in Jerusalem and the Second is a arch focused one.
Research Exercise 1: Design Influence
Santiago Calatrava:
Work Chosen: Jerusalem Chords Bridge.
I am interested in all of Calatrava's Works, but in particular the Jerusalem Chords Bridge. The elongated stretching "deck" of the bridge is unique and the cables give a very interesting appearance characteristic of Calatrava's work, and the contrasting angles of the cables crate a "woven appearance" On first sight the bridge seems very detailed but looking closer it is made of only from three main elements. I would like my work to be similar with the natural sloping shapes arranged in a similar stretching motion.
